Join us for an uplifting evening celebrating the many roles of women in dentistry. Through connection, storytelling and conversation, we will showcase a special line up of Australian inspirational women who are navigating multiple roles, as professionals, leaders, mentors and caregivers. While also shaping their own career pathways and the future of the dental industry.
We are joined by a special guest speaker, Toni Powell renowed for her unforgettable stories and thought leadership. Ticket pricing includes a $20 donation to the ADA Health Foundation, seeking to improve the oral health of Australians who cannot easily access or afford dental care.

Presenters

Dr Meagan Huebl
For Meagan, dentistry is part of her family's heritage. Meagan holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Science in Marine Biology. She also has a Master's in Public Health and is studying for a Master of Dental Public Health. Although Meagan no longer works chairside, she remains dedicated to improving oral health and has a strong interest in global oral health and health systems.
Aside from dentistry, enjoys trail running, competing in ultramarathons, and spending time with her son and miniature labradoodle, Wolfie.

Dr Avanti Karve
Avanti is a dedicated advocate for patients with special health care needs with a focus on managing oral health to improve general health. Avanti completed her undergraduate BDS at University of Adelaide in 2003 and returned home to Sydney to become the first graduate of the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Special Needs Dentistry) program with the University of Sydney with concurrent Master of Health Science in Developmental Disability in 2010. Avanti is a private practice owner in Wahroonga as well as her public appointment as a Staff Specialist- Special Needs Dentistry at Westmead hospital. She has served the patients with special health needs for over 20 years.
In addition to her professional commitments, Avanti is a full-time Mum, Wife, Daughter, Sister, and Friend. She manages the juggle successfully on most days.

Dr Selina Leow
Selina is a published author, esteemed speaker and holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Postgraduate qualifications in Forensic Odontology. She has her own private practice in General Dentistry and almost 30 years' experience in General Dentistry. She is one of Australia’s most experienced forensic odontology practitioners with DVI software, immediate past president of the INTERPOL DVI Forensic Odontology Sub-Working Group and the current President of the Australian Society of Forensic Odontology.
Selina enjoys reading and watching movies. Her and her husband are avid 4WD enthusiasts having travelled the Simpson Desert, The Nullarbor, Victorian High Country and Cape York region (northern most tip of Australia).
Dr Olivia Rae
Olivia is an award-winning specialist endodontist, practice owner, and North Queensland local, recognised for her leadership in regional dentistry and commitment to education and mentorship. She is currently the only female endodontist practicing in Queensland north of the Sunshine Coast and is a strong advocate for improving regional access to specialist care while supporting more women to pursue leadership roles. She regularly lectures at James Cook University, contributes to local CPD programs, and sponsors the JCU Dental Students’ Association to support the next generation of dentists.
Olivia became a mother to twins and returned to full-time specialist practice three months later, balancing her clinical, educational, and family commitments. She brings a thoughtful, lived perspective on career progression and work-life balance, hoping to inspire others to pursue leadership, specialist training, and fulfilling careers in all stages of life

Associate Professor Leanne Teoh
Leanne is a Principal Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne, a practicing dentist and registered pharmacist.
She co-authored the National Dental Guidelines Therapeutic Guidelines Oral and Dental Version 2, is on the editorial board for the International Dental Journal, and co-authored the book, ‘Handbook of Dental Therapeutics’. She co-invented the drug compendia, ‘MIMS Drugs4dent®’, a digital decision tool aimed to assist dental practitioners with prescribing and medication management.
She doesn't have a lot of spare time, but when she does she enjoys spending time with her family.

Toni Powell
Storyteller, Speaker and Author
Renowned for her unforgettable stories,Toni Powell is one of the most recognised & enjoyed positive culture and wellbeing speakers in Australia.
She’s the winner of two international business awards for thought leadership, the author of two books and her Goalcast talk has over 15 million views.
In a former life Toni was an event director working with Commbank on their first public conference.
She was also the founder and director of the uplifting Heart of Gold International Film Festival – an event that had a huge impact on a community, toured Australia through Hoyts, and prompted the ABC to do an Australian Story on Toni called ‘Let There be Light’
